Marine Contractors Longshore Resource Center

6006F

The NCCI filed for and received approval for the 6006F code effective July 1st 2006.  This code was the result of a lengthy effort by many members of the FMCA and your executive director. It provided for the first time a uniform treatment for everyone in the marine contracting business in Florida.  The code applies to all policies regardless of whether they are new or renewal with an effective date of July 1st, 2006 and thereafter.

At the same time NCCI removed the use of codes 6003, 6003F, 6005 and 6005F in the state of Florida.  Click here to read the full detail of the 6006 “Scope” This 6006 code created some confusion within both member contractors and the insurance community as to exactly how it would be applied and what other codes could be used for the marine contracting business in the state of Florida.

LIG worked with some of the top marine contractor insurance companies currently writing Longshore business today to create a guide to the 6006F code and its relationship to other codes that could be used.  You can download your own copy of this simple guide by clicking here.
